GUSCADE 10th Anniversary Celebration Continues!

You may not find all of these titles in the Starcourt Mall Arcade in Hawkins, Indiana, but to continue the celebration of our 10th anniversary, Guscade is introducing 10 additional titles to our lineup!

The year was 1985... You are a knight in shinning armor or perhaps sometimes a knight in shinning underwear?! Ghosts 'N Goblins typically falls into one of the hardest arcade titles of all time. What makes this game so challenging you must fight zombies, devils, dragon's, demons, & many other foes that will stop you as you make your way through the first round of six levels. Starting off the game you have a lance & can obtain various other weapons throughout your way.

Another great horror theme classic Castlevania arcade game is added into the mix. You play as Simon on his quest to make his way throughout the castle making his way to the count. Cracking your whip will help you obtain health, & upgraded weapons. This version is much more difficult on the VS arcade system making sure to eat those credits / quarters rather quickly with Simon's health meter depleting much faster on this version.

Castlevania
This game doesn't really need much of an introduction. Mortal Kombat completely changed the early 90's arcade scene & this title set the bar high with it's realistic fighting graphics, & of course those specialty moves in addition to being able to Finish Him!!

Still a highly competitive gaming title Street Fighter II Champion Edition with 78 possible match up remains to this day one of the best from the series. This 6-Button fighter had many combinations one of the most famous the Hadouken.

Did you miss him ?! That little orange guy with the big nose, he's back again in the sequel Q*Bert's Qubes! Q*bert jumps from cube to cube, causing the cube to spin and change to a different color. The cubes have a different color on each side. Every level has a different cube pattern. Unlike in the original game, you don't need to change the colors of the whole screen, but you need to form straight lines of the required colors, & when you do succeed you can move on to the next round. If that doesn't sound daunting enough to make it more challenging are a variety of creatures (including a giant rat!) that chase you around the screen.

At some point Mario must of gotten his PhD, because now you play as Dr. Mario. What a brilliant fun puzzle game which required you to match up colored falling pills in a jar in hopes to get rid of the viruses. Two player game play is fun to compete simultaneously.

Dr. Mario
One of the original beat em up genres Double Dragon came to the scene in the late 80's. It's a 3-Button / joystick game with punch, jump & kick. You have two characters in the game Billy blue (aka Hammer) & Jimmy Lee (aka Spike). Speaking of the character Jimmy who was  "The Wizard" in the movie The Wizard played by Luke Edwards. While at a rest stop you see a Double Dragon machine which Luke Edwards / The Wizard plays on & once Fred Savage (Jimmy's brother) comes back and say's that famous line "50,000...You got 50,000 on Double Dragon!?".

Hey you guyyyyyys! Since we just talked about movie references The Goonies in 1985 still to this day remains as one of my all time favorites. Long before Josh Brolin was Thanos, he was simply Brand. Also well before Sean Astin was Bob in Stranger Things or in the shire as Samwise he was simply Mikey. This game would certainly have Jeff Cohen who played Chunk do the truffle shuffle all over again! That medley will also play in the game reminding you that the Goonies 'R' Good Enough. The game play is rather difficult, but they do say Goonies Never Say Die!

VS. The Goonies
Dinosaurs named Bub & Bob which blow bubbles capturing enemies inside and popping them seems pretty wild but it totally works. While playing Bubble Bobble The power-up items in this game are fun, umbrella's as level jumps, spelling E-X-T-E-N-D to gain extra lives. Bright colors, incredibly addicting two player simultaneous fun. I can assure you the background music will be in your head for days to come once you pop in that first quarter.

When this game came to market on Nintendo's home console in 1985 on the Nintendo Entertainment System it completely changed the game. He's one of the most iconic video game characters of all time Mario! Let's not forget his brother Luigi. Many people when they see this title say oh Super Mario Bros. I've played that countless times. Whelp this particular VS Arcade Super Mario Bros. is known as being notoriously harder. Care to challenge yourself to things that initially seem very familiar however you won't be able to use all of those warp tubes anymore in the arcade version.
